eight seasons with 200 episodes in 70 hours

This summer I have discovered this delightful little thing called netflix. So I started at the very beginning of That '70s Show. I'm almost done with the 7th season. Of the 200 episodes I have 28 to go. In case any of you were wondering there is not much to do in Sioux Falls when you work as much as I do. On the plus side I have successfully driven my family insane because I always beat them to the TV. These are the things are what I live for. Especially when it pisses off my sister. Mainly because she always wants to watch woman's softball which is boring as HELL!!!! It's very satisfying to make her go watch TV in her room or the garage. But back to that That '70s Show, I love knowing what's going on in the story. After this I think I'm going to start watching all of the Scrubs episodes. But I'm already ahead on that show cause I own a two seasons and watched many episodes in German for class.

Well some exciting things happened this weekend: My parents went away to see my grandma in Sturgis. FINALLY MY MOM TRUSTS ME ENOUGH TO NOT HAVE A BABYSITTER!!! It only took 20 years. Normally she would call my other grandparents to stay with us but instead she said we could stay by ourselves. But because my mom is such a control freak both my brother and sister have gone crazy and want to throw parties. I worry about this because they are both IDIOTS!!!! Like how my IDIOT of a brother showed up with like four kids ready to hit the hot tub. great.
Either I grew up already, I don't have enough friends in Sioux Falls, or I'm a stick in the mud but I really don't want to "babysit" high school kids all weekend. This is not my idea of a good time.

Please shoot me now.
Seriously
So much for a weekend without parents

Graduation is finally over!!!!

That stressful event will not occur again for another 2.5 years thank God!!!! If you are one of my friends on facebook, as most of my followers are, you will notice a rather depressing post about potato salad. To put things in perspective we had 50 pounds to start with. Since we have been eating it since then there is still about 25 pounds left. We're at the half way point!!!!! To most of you this seems like a very funny situation but for my family it caused a three day weekend from hell. My family has a tendency to over dramatize the situation. My mom felt that no one was helping her, my dad thought this was all a waste of time, my grandma thought every little thing was a mountain, my other grandma and grandpa tried to help but are both so old that they really couldn't do anything with pissing off my mom, Ben and Taryn were no where to be found even though it was their party and I was stuck right in the middle of all this crap. I was so happy to go back to work this morning just to get away from my family. For once I would really like some time with my family were no one is arguing. But that's just a dream.

Speaking of dreams, I got an offer to sing the national anthem at a pheasant's game!!! I just have to send in a recording so they know I don't suck but after that I get to sing in front of a lot of the big time people of Sioux Falls. Not necessarily the musically inclined, but the people who have a lot of money, or time to waste at our ball park, to sponsor possible events that may need entertainment. I'm really excited but I do still have to pass the audition. Wish me luck!!

I can't wait for Friday!!! A whole day with Kevin, and possibly Kayla and Andrew. Then we get to spend the weekend with his family. A lot of people might think I'm weird for loving to spend time with my boyfriend's family but if I had to choose between a day with my family and a day with Kevin's I would pick Kevin's. Yes my family loves him but for me it's a lot easier to hang out with his siblings than it is with mine. There is an age gap.. It would have been really nice to have him here to lean on this weekend, even with the screaming high school kids. I don't remember being that laud when I graduated. I guess I kinda feel old being around all my sibling's friends.

Oh well at least it's over!!!!

Summer Time!

This summer has started off much better than last year. It only took three days for my mom and I to get used to living together. Last summer we started off with a giant fight that ended in me walking home from Hy-Vee crying. Secretly I think we are getting along because she has bronchitis. I'm still not sure how I feel about her telling me on Monday that I needed to find a song to sing on Sunday for church for the graduates. Quite honestly it shouldn't be my problem but whatever. If I want to sing in the band I have to make people happy. Mostly my mom but also the other drama queens.

So here are some of the events that have already happened this summer.

I started working at Lewis again. I know old knew but one thing that is really exciting is that they now respect me enough to let me do my job in peace. No one is standing over my shoulder telling me to do this and that better. They even trusted me enough to have me do the watering. I know this doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but if the waterer is off by just a little bit, too much or not enough, the plants WILL die. This might seem a little dramatic but most of those plants are not meant to stay in the little containers they come in. The waterer is the one who keeps them alive for the customers. If they die people get angry. Course that did mean that I had to be at work by 6:00am this morning but I survived. I'm not sure if I really like the atmosphere around the store anymore. Everyone is at each other's throats over the stupidest things. Instead of having conversations with people about how they have been, I've been having conversations about why this person hates that person. I'm really over it already. Sadly one of my favorite coworkers is being transferred to another store. All because she can't stand our head manager. I really wish everyone would just shut up!!! It's really sad when I'm the most mature person there when most of them are 5-30 years older than me. It's going to be an interesting summer...

The Chamber Singers sang at Dr. Gangon's wedding last weekend. I had so much fun!!! I came down after my shift on Friday and stayed at Kevin's place. Sadly he didn't get there until the morning. I only got to see him for three hours before I had to go to rehearsal. It was fun to see everyone again. I think that was the best we've ever sang the Ave Maria. After the ceremony we were invited to the reception. The food was really good. The song they danced to was At Last and I teared up it was so beautiful. Since I and many other friends are still underaged we decided to dance. At first it was just me and Phil doing a fast two stepish thing. Then Gabe showed up and tried to cut in. Thank God Phil wouldn't let me go. Finally after a few very impressive dances by the three of us everyone else joined the dance floor. I must have danced for three hours. It was so much fun. I got my final slow dance with Phil who by that point was my date, lol. I'm going to miss him so much!!! We started out together at fast-track before freshman year. Neither of us know that we would be in Chamber together as we met with Dr. Fett. My parents were asking ridiculous questions about how I could double major in Music and Math. (That dream failed!) I have been so lucky to get two years with him. He will do well at his new school but he will be greatly missed in Verm.

So far the only two people I've seen in Sioux Falls have been Kayla and Nate. Kayla and I had a wonderful lunch at our favorite spot, Bagel Boy, on Tuesday. We talked about her new man:) I'm so happy for her. She deserves to have someone. Nate and I went for a walk today. Then we drove to the library down town where he showed me all the wonderful free music waiting to be ripped. Then we went to Apple Bees. The waiter was ok but he didn't even ask if we were paying together. I even said that we were splitting the appetizer. Anyway there was an extremely weird moment when we realized our waiter thought we were a couple. Which is definitely not true. We laughed about it later. I really like hanging out with Nate. Obviously as a friend. We can have fun when we are not at work.

I miss Kevin more than ever!!!! It's so weird not to have him with me all the time. We said that we would try to see each other every week but now I won't see him until his mom's wedding. I really hope that he has a good summer. He worked so hard this last semester. I'm so proud of him. He Graduated!!!! It makes me kinda sad that he will graduate with two degrees before I even finish mine. Sometimes I feel like I'm holding him back. I can't believe I got so lucky:) Love you hun!!!

I could talk about more but this blog is already really long and I've now been awake for 20 hours.

I've got time

So I have time today to sit in the electronic music lab and catch up on my blogging. There are quit a few of us in here today. Laura decided to show us this horrible recording of Florence Foster Jenkins singing the freaking high song from the Magic Flute and the song that Sara O. did for the concerto competition. It is truly horrible. Her German is terrible and she sounds like a dying animal. Now there are some singers in the department who are not that good at hitting higher notes, I myself have squeaked before, but this woman has taken bad singing to the next level. It was hilarious to watch.

If you have nothing to do today go look up Florence Foster Jenkins sings Mozart.
That is all

Back on top

The past couple of weeks have been not so fun. I went from having insane back pain to getting a cold. Which was very odd since I was on antibiotics to begin with. I know they don't help with a virus but getting sick was the last thing that I needed last week. Things are starting to return to normal, or as normal as things are in my life. I can breathe and move with hurting myself so I feel great!

My family, minus my brother, came for a college visit on Friday. I love my sister very much but I'm not sure if it's a good idea for her to come to USD. She would do great here but I want my space and she should have that experience of being completely on her own. I had to that with my freshman year and I think it's time for her to grow up and not rely on others to do things for her. That and if she goes to Northern she gets her own car...

Yesterday was Brianna's 21st birthday. I really hope she loved her day. It was fun for all of us to go to Sioux City and just hang out. I really miss that. We are all so busy! It's just nice to be with other people for a change, especially eating Applebee's:) I can't wait for my 21st birthday. Eight short months from now I can legally go to the bars. Not that I'm counting.

Well off to Choir.
